Question: "Should I use Gold or Silver Tequila to make my
margaritas?"
Answer: First, let's talk about the difference between silver and gold tequila.
Most "gold" tequilas (at least in the price range for
making frozen margaritas) are colored by adding caramel coloring and flavor
additives to give it the amber/golden hue and a touch of sweetness or
a wood/oak flavor. We usually recommend silver (clear) tequila
to our clients, only because it keeps the color of the margaritas a
lighter green color, but gold tequila will work just fine!
