A Surprising Fact About
Margaritas - from Mike Laymon, Austin's Margarita Man: Question: "Who invented the frozen margarita machine?" Answer: The invention of the Frozen Margarita Machine is claimed by Mariano Martinez of Mariano's Mexican Cuisine in Dallas, over 30 years ago in 1971. Martinez "borrowed" the idea from a "Slurpee" machine at a local convenience store. He then modified a soft-serve ice cream machine to concoct his tasty innovation. His achievement was honored by a proclamation from the Texas State Senate in 2001, that you can view here. |
