A Surprising Fact About
Margaritas - from Mike Laymon, Austin's Margarita Man: There seems to be some confusion about what makes a margarita "Top Shelf". Some would argue that it's simply using high quality tequila and orange liqueur; the best liquors are generally kept on the top shelf in most bars. Others insist that it is the quality of the lime juice and other ingredients that make the best margaritas. When it comes to frozen margaritas, I believe that it's a little bit of both. Our "Top Shelf" frozen margarita recipe starts with fresh lime juice and our Margarita Man Neutral Base, then you add what ever quality tequila & triple sec (or Cointreau/Gran Marnier) your budget can afford. With frozen margaritas, the quality of the liquor is not as critical as the other ingredients, but it sure doesn't hurt to use "the good stuff". |
