A Surprising Fact About
Margaritas

When you make your next trip to
your favorite liquor store, take a look at the different styles of tequila on
the shelf (and their corresponding prices!). The four styles are:
Blanco - The original style, clear in color (sometimes called "silver"),
little or no ageing; perfect for our frozen margaritas!
Gold - Unaged blanco tequila colored or flavored with additives,
typically caramel coloring; another good choice for frozen margaritas.
Reposada - Tequila aged in wooden casks for at least 2 months, but no
more than 11 months; save this for "on the rocks" or "shots".
Anejo - Tequila aged in wooden barrels for at least 1 year, up to 4-5
years or more, sometimes taking on the flavor characteristics of whiskey, great
for "sippin". |
